According to scientists, an apple each day can keep away hypertension and high blood pressure, but only if you consume it without removing the peel.
In Canada, a group of scientists have detected that an apple with peel is more effective compared to other superfoods such as blueberry or green tea as a source of flavonoids which help against life-threatening condition.
In a study, Nova Scotia Agricultural College’s researchers tasted the fruit with and without the peel. The peel was discovered to be around 6 times more effective in stamping down ACE, an enzyme which causes high blood pressure and hypertension. Flavanoids are also good for heart.
Nova Scotia researchers stated that apple is one of the most popular and frequently fruits in the world and peeling off the fruit mean losing out on most health benefits.
